I don’t have this issue on replit.com (just tested it). Do you mean on ask.replit.com? This limit is in place to prevent frivolous/spammy discussion.

Rather than posting “+1” or “Agreed”, use the Like button! Rather than taking an existing topic in a radically different direction, use Reply as a New Topic.

The 20 character limit mostly fixes this problem.
