As you know when you change your username on replit it automatically changes it on replit ask
My request is that we can change it as MANY times as we want but we have to wait a certain amount of days or months or even years.
So what I’m saying is that like YouTube when you change your name you have to wait 14 days until you can change it again, so why couldn’t Replit just make you wait a certain amount of days instead of it just being a one time thing.
If any staff or whoever has the power to do this take note of this and please debate on having this new feature that could be added
Yes, once does seem like too little. Though, this is to prevent users from abusing username changing. I do agree that it should be in a timed system rather than an explicit number of times to change usernames, possibly something like 6 months to test and see if any issues occur, revise the time (most likely making it a bit longer, but that’s just a hunch), and then the Replit team could go from there.
Even though I do dislike Cycles, it would probably be better than just letting any random user change their name, as it takes a committed programmer to earn Cycles, and people wouldn’t waste their money buying Cycles than getting banned for abusing username changing.
I have yet to gain any sort of tips or wanting to buy them because I have other things to spend my money on but I think being able to change your username monthly would sound nice
Even though I doubt anyone (who manages/controls Replit) will address this, I think 30 days would be a better amount of time. Simply said, 30 days gives other users enough time to get used to your new username, and also gives equal ground for other Repliters to get a new username - even if it’s the one you want. Though I doubt anyone will make any sort of change to the username system, I wish it was possible to change it again because I dislike my current username (and won’t probably change it again for a while)
What if you have many popular Repls? When you change your username, all the links that lead to those Repls will break. (since your username is in the URL)
