Exactly! Thats what im trying to say. And many websites break if they are not properly optimized when being viewed. And others don’t let you view them at all (some JS or CSS is my guess)
That story sounds GPT generated. Also, I would not be surprised if you suddenly got banned from Replit. But very good.
I am not as creative as you are lol.
I don’t mean it. Amjad Is a great dude, I just think he maybe got peer pressured a little bit into doing this.
It seems the go to way is to post your code in GitHub and use jsdelivr or the like. I was surprised when people were hosting their css and js libs on replit.
Hi. I just wanted to thank you all your feedback so far. This is important to understand and I’m glad that most of you have remembered the Replit Ask Community Standards while composing your reply.
However I’ve flagged quite a few recent posts which are veering away from our #1 standard. I’m happy to keep this thread open so that your views can be shared with the Replit team but keep it constructive please.
Adding on to this, something that makes me nervous is the docs say they could discontinue cycles at any time, and there will not be any refunds like that. Just poof. No cycles. at any time
Welcome! Though why scratch? I consider scratch a kind of worse hosting site.
Because I know how to use scratch, I’ve used for 2-3 years before using Replit and Code.org.
If replit is really struggling this much with money, then, even though I like having no ads, I would prefer to have ads on the homepage instead of having to pay to host anything.
I actually read this now, and this is completely correct. Replit wants to be one of the biggest hosting sites, then why make everything cost money? The less expensive, the more users. Im not sure what financial situation they’re in, but im sure it doesnt call for this.
Yeah, like the whole reason why he made this was because he couldn’t do anything productive with VS Code and the like. And now he is turning to the dark side. It just doesn’t make any sense because this goes against the entire purpose of creating Replit.
Scratch doesn’t even host websites. It just runs programs. Though, what we used to do was use turbowarp.org to create scratch projects, but in the correct screen ratio with extensive features, then we would convert it to an HTML and host it on Replit.
Wait really? Can you provide a link to this I want to read that area.
Hi Ian! Thanks for popping in here and mentioning this! Sorry if this post made people go wild haha.
If replit goes down in the future, maybe try a https://ircnow.org shell account (you could run a webserver and use that)
Replit is getting more capitalistic as it goes on, or that’s my opinion anyway.
It used to be almost entirely free, now you have to pay just so that your website doesn’t go down when you leave the Repl.
Plus the unfortunate fact that once your money becomes cycles, it stays that way (no refunds) even if you can’t use them (for whatever reason).
Deployments sound like a nightmare. When did Replit decide paying for everything was a good idea??
WHY???
Not even 6 days in and I’m already over half
That big one is my api for files. I send requests to retrieve files from there in my other repls AND I used gdaybot to keep it running… Also I have no way of paying for hacker plan so I am stuck with this.
Bro im literally abt to cry lmao.
