Unzipping in to a folder

When you unzip a file in the shell, it just dumps in to the main files. Can you allow users to specify a folder to unzip into?

This is not a valid feature request. The zip/unzip functions in Shell are included with Linux and not some Replit “feature” per say. Plus this already exists.

unzip file.zip -d $REPL_HOME/zip

That will unzip file.zip’s contents to the folder called zip as accessible from the workspace GUI.

Adding onto @CoderElijah, you could also zip a folder while compressing to mitigate this issue.

I normally use @7heMech’s Zip Extractor extension: ZIP Extractor | Extensions - Replit

For a better UI you can use the improved version from @BananaBake. Which might be a bit slower, but it’s a tradeoff.
