The app says to post here for help on why my package failed to promote

I get this error.

2023-12-09T08:25:28Z error: The deployment failed to initialize due to a configuration or code error. Check the logs tab for more information. For additional support, please post on https://ask.replit.com/c/help/13 and a staff member will take a look.

I don’t know. It works in webview. It worked a few hours ago before I started adding a function. I commented out the function and it still doesn’t deploy, or show errors in console. ChatGPT says it could be a provisioning issue?

I donno.

It’s for pet.wtf

https://replit.com/@corley-ai/react-quickstart

Thanks.

Welcome to ask! Please make your repl public so we can see it!

I have made It public.

For troubleshooting, I tried commenting out the functions.

Didn’t promote.

Then i tried commenting out the custom-styles.scss call.

Didn’t promote.

Webview continues to work.

I commented out all the functions that lead to placeholders.

Didn’t promote.

There doesn’t seem to be any syntax errors or glaring issues with how the promises and the BotUI methods are chained together. If something is not functioning as expected, here are a few things to consider:

  1. Check the Network Requests: Since your images are loaded from an external server, make sure that there are no issues with the network requests. Check the browser’s network tab to see if the images are being fetched without errors.
  2. Confirm the Behavior of data?.selected?.value: Ensure that the data object structure is consistent with what you are expecting. You can use console.log(data) to inspect it.
  3. Uncalled Functions: In the action handling logic, after mybot.wait({ waitTime: 2500 }), the check for if (data?.selected?.value === 'show_examples4') comments imply that the show_examples4() function should be called, but it is only logging to the console and not defined with any logic. This might be a placeholder, but if it’s meant to perform an action, you’ll need to implement it.
  4. Check for HTTPS Errors: If there’s an SSL/TLS issue, the browser might block the requests to your images if they’re being served over http on an https site. Make sure all resources are served over https.
  5. Verify Imported Styles: The line import "/custom-styles.scss"; assumes that the path to the file is correct and that SCSS is properly set up in your build process. If not, the styles may fail to apply.
  6. BotUIArtificial Intelligence Text: The text “Our Artificial Intelligence made this cartoons of Sam” has a typo; it should be “Our Artificial Intelligence made these cartoons of Sam.”
  7. Browser Compatibility: The JavaScript uses optional chaining (?.), which is not supported in Internet Explorer. Make sure to use a browser which supports ES6+ features.
  8. Unused Variables: BotUIActionSelectButtonsReturns is imported but not used. If you don’t need it, consider removing the import to keep your code clean.

If the site is not loading correctly when deployed but works fine in development, ensure that the deployment process on Replit is successful and check the logs for any errors. If the problem remains, try to narrow down the issue by simplifying the bot’s interactions to see if the problem is with the bot dialogs or with the deployment/environment itself.

I saw that some of my images weren’t called via https. So i’m like “for sure this is the problem!”

corrected them . . .and it doesn’t promote.

And maybe, just maybe this has something to do with me selecting my username yesterday? I donno.

Try running sh -c npm run start in the shell tab, and say what the output is.

Usage:

npm install install all the dependencies in your project
npm install <foo> add the <foo> dependency to your project
npm test run this project's tests
npm run <foo> run the script named <foo>
npm <command> -h quick help on <command>
npm -l display usage info for all commands
npm help <term> search for help on <term>
npm help npm more involved overview

All commands:

access, adduser, audit, bin, bugs, cache,
    ci, completion, config, dedupe, deprecate,
diff, dist-tag, docs, doctor, edit, exec,
    explain, explore, find-dupes, fund, get,
    help, hook, init, install, install-ci-test,
install-test, link, ll, login, logout, ls,
org, outdated, owner, pack, ping, pkg,

    search, set, set-script, shrinkwrap, star,
stars, start, stop, team, test, token,
    uninstall, unpublish, unstar, update,

Specify configs in the ini-formatted file:
    /home/runner/.npmrc
or on the command line via: npm <command> --key=value

The image in https://docs.replit.com/hosting/deployments/troubleshooting seems to indicate there should be a log, but there isn’t.

It probably is to do with you renaming your account. I would try forking the repl, and deploying that, then forking it on another account if that doesn’t work.

Same thing on fork.

So . . . i deployed and promoted at around midnight last night. Can I go back to that state work from there easily? Is that snapshot saved?

Even though neither GPT nor replits ai can see the problem, i have this feeling it’s some stupid floating curly bracket or ( somewhere

What deployment type are you using?

You should be able to restore any files through the history button in the bottom right,

I really like the idea of the non-destructive undo. That’s cool. Timeline and all.

Looking a fork of your repl, it is storing over 2 gig worth of data in the /home/runner/.cache/pip/http/ folder. The maximum size allowed is 1 gig for a static deployment, so you should try an autoscale deployment, or see if you can remove that data without breaking your program.

I’m on autoscale.

And this IS interesting. I rolled back to where it worked before, and it didn’t promote. I mean i may not have nailed the state exactly, but i think i did.

That means its’ probably not my code - woot!

GPT4 was like “looks like a provisioning issue to me”.

Okay, I’m not sure where all the cache files are from, but try coping and pasting your code over to a new typescript repl, which wont have those cache files which were probably stopping your code moving over to their servers.

So basically - grab the botui quickstart, and then make changes to the 3 files i modified?

oh - and i’m out of replies for 20 hours.

Yeah. The fresh install without updates doesn’t promote.

It’s my account somehow. 5 hours of troubleshooting on my end, and it wasn’t me.

If it’s your account, I imagine it’s due to your username change. Maybe try in a different account?

So buy another membership to try to deploy? i can fork it on a free account, but not sure how i deploy.

Yes, although send me the url of botui quickstart, so I can see if the cache files are there.

Okay, try that (edit your comment for a reply ig lol)

Solution:
If anyone else is having the same issue, do the same as @corley-ai which was to remove any large files (in this scenario, it was a cache file) and make sure it doesn’t come back (by automating the removal of it).

Orignal Message:
If it’s your account, I imagine it’s due to your username change. Maybe try in a different account? Create a repl in a different account, and then invite your original account and deploy it. (I cant make more than 3 replies in a row, so I’m gonna DM).
