So what exactly IS the point of having a preview to markdown files --- but it opens in the raw version?

Sure, the hidden files are unhidden. But who asked for anything else?
But why, oh why, is there a ‘preview’ option for markdown files when the default opening is in the raw version? You’re trying to teach kids to code and you get them stuck on an unintelligible raw markdown — time after time.

I’m not sure I follow. Preview markdown brings up an uneditable version of markdown which is the markdown parsed into HTML.

My point: the default file that opens is NOT the preview version but the raw markdown.

you could put the markdown files in a .tutorial folder to get them to show up in the sidebar automatically
