How can you be seen 3 min ago when your last post was 2 min ago?

Seriously though I think the answer is just a caching thing with Discourse updating the different statistics at different times.

The last post time is the list time a post was published (made). Last seen was the last time the user used a user API key[1] used the key. For example loading a new page while logged in.

  1. Diffrent from an Admin API key assigned to a user. THough those are no longer issued. ↩ī¸Ž

Discourse takes time to process posting, so when the user is gone, it is likely for this to happen. This can also happen when a post goes into the staff review queue.
