Replit is ratelimiting my repls to death

Problem description:
I have observed that Replit is actively ratelimiting my repls to the point that they cannot function.

Expected behavior:
Replit does what it has always done and doesn’t break anything.

Actual behavior:
Replit is excessively ratelimiting everything on my account.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open https://9pfs.repl.co/

Bug appears at this link:
https://9pfs.repl.co/

Browser/OS/Device:

ChromeOS 110

Here’s the results of an internet speed test run on one of my repls:

~/9pfs$ nix-shell -p speedtest-cli

[nix-shell:~/9pfs]$ speedtest

I’d be willing to spend 88 cycles to get my egress usage reset if it meant that this would stop being an issue.

I’m tired of this. Please, just take the money and give me back my sanity.

… problem is you’re using 10 GiB… that’s gonna cost you $70 for hacker plan…

Replit has to pay 8 cents per gb of egress traffic. There’s no reason for me to pay more.

I know… but replit does that … literally

not inflation, just replit; they COULD make the price reasonable but … you are literally paying 7 dollars for 80 cents worth of product + a few extras (I’d estimate you’re getting about … 3 dollars value)…

Anyway, they don’t care, because I’m neither (a) a paying user nor (b) in a position to get enough people to notice how replit’s scamming everyone.

I mean I can ask some of my contacts with large followings but yeah I don’t even think they’ll listen if a mod already made a complaint post

If I had access to a VPS, I’d probably just stop using replit for most things

That’s totally new (see: New Year New Replit | Announcing more power and changes to pricing)

I know about that, and if not for that, I’d maybe look into trying to use replit’s paid version

I think this thread is getting toxic. I understand the frustration, but having a service running 24/7 costs money and the repl asks is peanuts in comparison to the most basic service out there.

I’m not asking for replit to refund me. I’m asking for replit to take 88 cycles from my account and decrease my egress traffic count by 11gb. GCP charges an 8 cent fee per gb of traffic, so it’s completely reasonable to expect replit to do this.

Yes it is. But asking in this manner is toxic and you can propose it and let them think over and implement it. This is never like a switch.

All of replit’s changes so far this year that involve money in any way have been negative. There’s no point expecting things to improve.

We will see. It is not easy to find the right line between what to charge and what not

we need slightly high paid prices to keep the free stuff (COUGH DEPLOYMENTS) free forever

Deployments isn’t what we need. We need the way replit used to be
