Replit recently released deployments and added some new resources to your account, but does anybody know what these are, like explain what the text under the usage bar means
My guess based on that message is that not only will Replit restrict the amount of data your Repl sends out to users, but the number of requests it receives from users as well.
Hey @BearCoder01!
We don’t have hard limits for inbound requests right now, but we eventually will. Whenever someone loads your site, it counts as a request. Most users will not run into this limit and shouldn’t need to worry once we implement it.
wouldn’t this allow Denial of Service and DDoS? You can’t discriminate users by the TCP headers, and if you recieve any data, it eventually allow for DOS.
Is there also a plan to make deployments available for non Hacker, Pro users. I found it sad to see that free users are excluded out of this opportunity (the use of the static deployment type and the Autoscale one). So that free users just have to pay more (cycles) than the non Pro, Hacker users when they chose that deployment type.
Makes sense to me but this is already on the drawing board.
also, aren’t static deployment completely redundant (except for custom url)? Does that mean that the only benefit to static deployments is the replit.app domain?
Great question! I’ve asked the team if we have any plans to open Deployments up to users who don’t already have a plan.
Can you keep me updated on the awnser?
I apologize for the delay! We do not have an answer at this time. Opening Deployments to users without a paid plan is still TBD.
Thanks for checking, but may you keep me updated!
Yes, I will keep you updated.
We have recently made some changes to Deployments, as noted here:
Thank you. It is nice to see that replit isn’t a company that just thinks about money. I first thought that replit was going to pull of a Unity 2.0 happing. Also it is very promising that replit gives the power of AI to all users and not just the users who have the money.
