Postgres oddness?

Is this odd?
Shouldn’t this query work both ways with the neon postgres db?

SELECT name FROM vendors WHERE id = 10;
name
kims

SELECT id FROM vendors WHERE name = 'kims';
Query successful, no rows returned

I’d appreciate your assistance. TY.

What do you get if you run:

SELECT * FROM vendors WHERE name = 'kims';

Query successful, no rows returned

But using the ID instead works?

For the sake of testing (I don’t think this’ll work) could you try:

SELECT * FROM vendors WHERE name = kims

It doesn’t. I’m going to abandon ship on this db and create a new one.

New db works. Interesting.

tnx
