When I am editing inside of my repl, it seems to delay the typing. When I type, the text area seems to be about 2-4 seconds late when I am typing.

Hello there. Your repls run on virtual machines, supercomputers that are stored on the cloud. In your console, whatever you type is actually being sent to a cloud computer to process, and then the cloud computer responds with the character being printed in result of the keypress. Your case may be internet delay, taking into account, how long it is taking for you.
