Keep state between redeployments

Describe your feature request

Deployments don’t keep permanent state. I need to have permanent state.

What problem(s) would this feature solve?

Apps that need to permanently store large files.

Explain what you were trying to do when you came across the problem leading to this feature request

Hi @0xC4aE1e5 , welcome back!
Are you referring to persistent file systems (file writing doesn’t work in deployments)? This has not been implemented, but the Replit team has said that it is on their roadmap.
Hope this helps!

Could you source this please? Last I heard, they were planning on creating an S3/R2/GCS alternative (which is extremely different from a persistent fs)

I’ve definitely seen it before, and here’s what Qwerty said:

Can anyone support this?

Oh, you just took that to mean a persistent file system. Søren has said quite a few times that they’re working on a blob storage system as you can see in the below quotes:

I only went through the “Changes to Hosting on Replit!” thread (wow, that took so long) but he’s mentioned it many times on the forum, the Friends of Replit Discord and also we talked about it in emails a little.
