Help! You can’t run this Repl right now

After using a proxy I pay for to make a request my Repl locked me out and says: " It may be temporarily unavailable or it may have violated our Terms of Service. If you are the owner of this Repl and believe you should be able to run it, you can try again later or contact support."

Hey @ToyuAU welcome to the forums!

What were you trying to accomplish using the proxy? Can you provide a link to your Repl?

The use of the proxy is just to access an API.

Hey @ToyuAU, welcome to the community!

Sorry to disappoint you, but the usage of proxies is unadvisable on Replit.
Item 24 of Section 4 of the Replit Terms of Service prohibits:

Use the Service to create a proxy with the purpose of circumventing any firewall or other access control measure

Therefore, Replit is likely to automatically block any Repl containing a proxy, and those that are not blocked automatically may be reported. This does not specifically forbid all proxies, but due to this most proxies are generally taken down.

Additionally, Replit tends to automatically kill any repls that attempt to access HTTP proxies.

Yes, it is private repl.

In this case a repeater proxy is fine. Besides, we don’t show this screen for proxies we just delete them :+1:

@ToyuAU read what Qwerty said:

That states “Use the Service to create a proxy” not use a proxy server I pay for.

Your TOS states “Use the Service to create a proxy” to “create”. You need the legal team to reword that but I didnt violate any TOS.

@ToyuAU I am fairly certain that your Repl hit too many outgoing TCP connections in one second and our tools yoinked your Repl. You should be good to go in five minutes and in the future probably slow down on outgoing requests :slight_smile:

We’re working on making this better so bear with us in the meantime :pray:

Thanks, for that I appriciate it.

Just to make it clear we don’t do this, proxies are reviewed by actual humans :+1:
