Did you know that your replit id is based on how many users joined before you?

I just realized that lol. Check it out! https://replituserid.replit.app/

I only figured this out because I was fiddling with GQL once, and found that if I requested a very high userid it would error, so I slowly lowered the number I was requesting until it was valid, I then increased it by one above what I knew was valid, and it was then valid.

I figured it out when I started messing with GQL and making queries and noticed MattMattMatt’s UserID was a lot lower than mine.

I only knew that through interactions with bigminiboss and PikachuB2005.

Compare the user IDs for 9pfs, 10gssd, and amasad (all but amasad are me, obviously I’m not amasad). There’s a big gap! :slightly_smiling_face:

Your id comes before mine, right?

I’m 5000827 places ahead of you.

Do you know anyone from the first million to join?

That is a normal way of doing it. So no surprise there

That is correct. Implementing user IDs as an incrementing value can significantly reduce the complexity of database design and streamline the process of generating user id’s.

IDs for Firepup650 (My main obv), FireBot650, and Firecat650 are spaced out quite a bit too, lol.
IDs if anyone’s curious:
Firepup650: 5922662
Firebot650: 20695146
Firecat650: 22176132

I’ve known this for a while :man_shrugging: since I first saw Replit IDs, it’s kind of a standard thing to do.
