A few days ago my editor had a light theme and my console a dark one. Today I’m greeted with a new, cleaner tab navigation bar (which I really like) and a light-mode console (which I deem horrible).
Is there a switch somewhere that I may use to enable the old default theme?

You can turn on dark mode.
I prefer light mode for my editor. However, I can’t find that option. Am I missing something or it is not possible and I’ll just have to live with it?
Well, if I have dark mode, the console is also dark.
So you’ll have to choose: Light Console or Dark Mode
btw, if you want to change the theme:
- go to https://replit.com/~
- press the theme button at the bottom-left corner
- A list of themes will pop up. Choose “dark”
I am unsatisfied with either light or dark, but if there’s really no other way…
What about the layout then? Is this a feature or a bug?
It was so nice to have the console in dark compared to the editor : it showed new users that this was set apart from the rest, now I have to show people what to look , for it is less evident.

AFAIK I can’t make my console dark using a theme. Would you mind showing me how it’s done?

I’ve heard that console and background colors are now integrated

What do you mean by “console and background colors are now integrated”? I suppose you don’t mean this Background field in the theme creation wizard, because it would change the background color for (mostly) everything else as well?

I think it is really important to maintain the console in black. Make it optional if you like, but for beginners such as myself a black console makes things much more clear. The cmd command in windows is in black to show its a command window. Don’t mess it up replit, please, you were so good

Hey all!
Thank you for the feedback. I have flagged this to the team and will let you know once I have an update.

No dark mode makes every window dark what a subset of users want (especially beginners) is a white coding space and a black console (and shell)
