Corrupted nix editor

Question: Can a corrupted nix editor be replaced/fixed? I just started on Replit and when I try to run a single-line file, it tries to load Nix, then gives an error message.

Welcome to Ask! Can you provide the link to your repl as well as the error message? The solutions will vary greatly depending on the problem.

Can you use this link to see what’s going on there? I don’t know how to copy and paste from the replit screen.

It says it’s trying to lad nix, then ends with:
The error message is:

syntax error, unexpected end of file.

I had hoped to use Vim and had loaded VimHugeX.out, which didn’t work the way I’d expected. I tried to go back to Nix and must have done something to the file, because when I went back in after logging out, it no longer works.

I think I just need to replace the nix editor file in its home directory.

Try deleting replit.nix. All the nix config is being migrated to .replit. I forked your repl and deleted replit.nix and that fixed the problem. Do note that Replit will run main.py not hello.py by default although you can change that.

How to run a file other than main.py

Just click the next to “Files” then click “Show hidden files”. Next click on the .replit file and finally you can change the entrypoint to whatever file you want to run.

You should also see the docs on how to configure a Repl: https://docs.replit.com/programming-ide/configuring-repl

And if you want to run the last edited file, take a look at this post:
