Just wondering, can somebody tell me what the cheers are, and how you get them.
Cheers are just points to show how experienced you are on the forum.
You just earn cheers by simply doing things on the forum, like reading and replying to topics, liking and linking posts, etc.
You can also earn cheers when you receive a like or get one of your posts marked as a solution.

Not always. Somebody can read a lot but don’t know the rules. And we changed the settings for how much you get for stuff so you may not get cheers for some actions
