Problem description:
I can’t upload on replit.com my profile picture.
Expected behavior:
The upload image box should pop up when I hover my current profile picture.
Actual behavior:
The “upload image” button does not appear.
Steps to reproduce:
I signed in using Google account via school account. I then went to the account page to upload my avatar but the “upload” field doesn’t work. Some of my classmates have updated their profile picture instead.
Browser: Google Chrome v 118.0.5993.90 (64bit) OS: Windows 11 22H2 build 22621.2428 Device (Android, iOS, NA leave blank): Desktop app version (Avatar menu->“Version”) or NA: Plan (Free, Hacker, Pro Plan): Free
Thank you for your answer. I tried changing the profile picture and bio from another browser (Opera GX) and from another device (my Android) but with the same result.
I thought of one thing: could my teacher have limited these functions? If so, I’ll ask him to confirm…
@francescomancuso You are correct. I took a look at your profile internally and I can confirm the way your teacher setup your student Replit account limits the features available to students, including customizing your social profile. If you’re curious, this is often because they are adhering to privacy regulations and being compliant with industry standards (FAQ here).
You are always welcome to create your own personal Replit profile outside of the one your teacher is providing, but this current profile will likely be needed to participate in the education setting being provided to you (and do education-orientated tasks like projects and turning in assignments). Hope it helps!
Hi, thanks for your reply.
Tomorrow I will talk to my teacher to see if it is possible to unlock these options. However, I will not hesitate to create my own replit account once this one no longer exists.
I only have one doubt, I would like to transfer this username that I have “francescomancuso” to my personal account. It’s possible?
@francescomancuso You can’t transfer it, per se. You can attempt to rename it to try and free up the username, but you can only do this once and it’s possible it was already renamed to the current username.
However, it’s worth a shot. Otherwise, you may need to delete the account after you’ve completed your education series with your teacher, or choose a different username.
