On a repl page, there should be a section on the right next to the comment box which has a pinned comment to it which is chosen by the maker of that repl.
Problems that can be solved by this feature
This will stop most comments from drowning down, it will also make the site more fun and will add more accessibilities
Inspiration for this feature
The idea for this feature was inspired by youtube video pages
I hope its a good suggestion! hope you consider it!
I think it does. When publishing an update on a popular repl that update is drowned out by other comments so if you pin it that wont happen.
You are right
So do you think replit will add it?
In the meantime, here is an alternative you can use:
That link is just there for demo purposes. You can still use it if you’d like.
The comment number is of course easy to get. You just click the three dots on the comment and click “copy link” to get most of the above URL. However, you can then add
&after= to the URL to allow you to go back in time. To determine what number to use for the
after, do the following: Copy the link to the parent comment (the first one, and not a reply to it), copy the number from
c= in the URL, add one to that number (e.g., 100 becomes 101), and then use that as your
after= value. This allows you to create a direct link to any comment on Replit.
I discovered a method of doing this which @Firepup650 refined. Just needed to give credit.
I love this, it’s a really good feature
Pinning is nice, especially as sometimes interesting posts are lost fast
for example mine, I posted something on timmcools Among us project and BOOM! 1 hour later I had to scroll down at least 2 sets to find my comment
I’ve wanted something like this, but mainly for finding comments in my notifications, so the comment just shows on top of the other ones and you don’t have to scroll.
